The RepDIALS Phone Program employs current undergraduate and graduate students. Callers contact alumni, parents and friends nightly to ask for support for the University of Florida’s colleges and programs. Financial support helps to fund scholarships, professorships, computer upgrades and more.
Student Fundraiser Job Description
Student Fundraisers contact alumni, parents, and friends of the university via the telephone to update alumni records, maintain positive alumni relations, and solicit gifts for specific academic funds at the University of Florida. Student fundraisers must complete an orientation and training program including the use of the automated calling system prior to their first calling session. Working Hours
Shifts are currently held at the following times:
Monday – Friday 5:45pm – 9:15pm
Saturday afternoon TBD (2pm - 5:15pm)
Sunday afternoon 12:00pm – 3:30pm
Sunday evening 4:00pm – 7:30pm
These times may change at any time.
Shifts are occasionally cancelled due to campus events such as football games or unforeseeable instances.
Students have the flexibility to determine their own schedule. Each student will be required to work a minimum of three calling shifts per week.
Wages
Hourly wages start at $8.00/hour. The position is eligible for regular raises and can earn up to $10.00/hour. Raises are offered based on performance and longevity.
Responsibilities
- Arrive for work prepared and on time
- Call potential donors for gifts and explain necessary procedures
- Provide honest, helpful information about the UF Foundation and the University – be prepared to answer questions.
- Maintain good public relations with alumni and friends
- Clearly update and verify all specified alumni demographics
- Alert the management staff to all prospective donor problems/concerns
- Accurately record the results of every phone call and fill out forms completely
- Efficiently operate automated CampusCALL system
